You can group tracks by Ctrl + Click the one's you want to group, then Right Click > Track Group > Group Selected Tracks
You can quickly cut video by clicking at a point then pressing S
Auto Ripple automatically fills in gaps in tracks you are working on, this is great when cutting or shortening a clip.

Alt + Mouse on a media clip is a technique which allows you to shift its contents in a fast and effecient manner.
Press M at any point on the timeline to place a marker which you can label
Holding Alt while drawing a mask with the rectangle tool allows you to draw rounded rectangles
Beware that resizing this mask will distort the rounded edges, so redraw it instead
This allows you copy paste Event FX, Event Pan/Crop from a clip to another

In Vegas Pro you can automate audio by clicking on an audio track and pressing Shift + V for volume or Shift + P for pan. Or you could do both at the same time.
This is an audio filter which you can use to either have a radio or underwater effect to your audio.
The underwater "deep" effect is done by using these settings: {Frequency = 500Hz or less, Filter Type = Low Pass}
The radio effect is done by using these settings: {Frequency = More than 20Hz, Filter Type = High Pass}
VEGAS Pro has a bug where the maximum height you can render your video is 2304 pixels. You can get bypass this by typing your desired height, then clicking "OK" to save
This issue and solution is done with the MAGIX AVC/ACC MP4 format but may also exist for others.
Creating a verticial video with the default layout can be uncomfortable since small, this can be solved by dragging the video preview out to be a separate window, then resising it to be vertical.
You can always return to default by clicking View > Windows Layouts > Default Layout
